December 2000
Malcontent Egg Nog

Happy Christmukah:
Many thanks to all of you fine folks that made it to my birthday bash/house concert. I sure did have a great time (for an old guy). Also thanks for all the gifts and encores: I didn't expect to get nearly as many of either as I ended up getting! And lastly, I’d like to thank the eel for once again being so attentive during the show.
Since the holiday onslaught is now upon us, I thought that, in honor of that spirit of kindness and sharing that only comes but once a year, I'd share with you my patented, one-of-a-kind, top-secret eggnog recipe. I sent this out to the mailing list last year, and it got such an overwhelmingly positive response that I thought I'd reprint it here for those of you that missed it the first time around. Here it is:
Bob Malone's Top-Secret Eggnog Recipe (serves 1)
In small bowl, over sink, beat until light:
1 Egg yolk
Beat in slowly:
1 Tablespoon Sugar
1/4 Cup Cream
A dash of salt
Set mixture aside.
Fill one large (12oz) rocks-glass with:
Bourbon or Rye whiskey
Carefully lift small bowl, and pour egg yolk mixture into sink.
Drink whiskey.
Repeat.
Feel free to share this with your friends: 'tis the season for giving, after all! You can also send your friends a musical greeting card with "Caught up in Christmas" as the music. Just go to my MP3 site and follow the instructions.
Have a fine holiday season, and remember these words of wisdom from Mark Twain:
"Too much of anything is bad, but too much of good whiskey is barely enough."
Love, Bob
